Coop C, a leading supermarket chain in Denmark, approached students at KEA to redesign the packaging for ‘Ready to eat’ salads that would reflect their commitment to sustainability and becoming more appealing to health-conscious consumers. Using the SPRINT method in a group with three other students, we explored ways in which the packaging design becomes visually appealing, affordable, functional, and sustainable in the materials and manufacturing process.
I was responsible for delivering the ‘Killing ready-to-eat salad’, where I focused on packaging hierarchy, readability, packaging system, and illustrations. The final design features an illustration-style packaging design, where baby blue as the primary colour emphasises the lightness of such salad. The box itself uses a combination of paper and biodegradable plastic materials.
